Concert: Andre Rieu

Concert: ANDRE RIEU came to Frankfurt!
Saturday, January 23, 2016

What a showman!! To describe this concert in one word: FUN! Even though we couldn't understand what he was saying to the audience that made them laugh (often), it was re-emphasized to us, once again, that

MUSIC IS THE UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE!!!

An impressive beginning: the whole orchestra marched in to "76 Trombones" from the back of the hall.  It was all SO colorful, lively, fun, and included outstanding music, too!!!

Der Dom Romer Platz (Roman Place), the most famous plaza in downtown Frankfurt, of course, to please the Frankfurters.

The whole concert involved interactions with the audience which made it fun!

At just the right moment in the song, the roof of the house popped up and the man in front of us cheered!

It's snowing!

The pianist had to perform with her back toward the audience, so the camera focused on her several times. She was cute.

There go the three tenors and three sopranos. They were excellent!

Here they are in Italy...backgrounds showed many places they have traveled for performances.

They performed many German folk songs (drinking songs) which had the audience singing and swaying along, even dancing in the aisles.

Surprises!

The whole concert involved interactions with the audience which made it fun!

The Festhalle is a beautiful building!

One thing the two of us enjoy together is MUSIC. After all, that is how we met (both in the BYU Concert Band). A fun evening out!
